Out'n About! for Outlook   RSS Feed
Intelligent Concepts and Solutions is dedicated to providing the most reliable and efficient In/Out Status Board on the market. We periodically release new versions that incorporate customer product requests and/or fix any program anomolies.

We welcome any product suggestions you may have for improving or expanding the Out'n About! product. Please use the Customer Support form to communicate any ideas you may have.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client v2.2

New Features:
•   Added ability to set your Out'n About! status and receive other's Out'n About! status via e-mail/mobile device.
•   Added option to control the Outlook Exchange Server 'Out of Office' feature when checking In and Out of Out'n About!.
•   Added ability to double click the Out'n About! system tray icon to quickly display the Out'n About! status board.
•   Added Outlook Profile support for multiple users sharing a common Windows login.
•   Released MSI compatible installer to support Group Policy/Active Directory deployment.
•   Released Citrix/Terminal Server Installation Guide.

Maintenance:
•   Fixed problem where Out'n About! Calendar Events would not execute for users with underscores '_' in their e-mail address.
•   Replaced 'Auto-Login' feature with 'Remember My Password' and 'Sign Me in Automatically' options. This allows notebook users remember their parssword and work offline without having the system automatically attempt to connect to the Out'n About! Server.
•   Out'n About! In/Out Status Board filter information is now persistent when changing folders within Outlook.
•   Fixed potential XML permission issue 'Class Not Registered' when all Outlook contact items for a user were empty.
•   Fixed problem where Outlook would display a security prompt 'a program is trying to access e-mail address...' when reading the default Outlook profile information at startup.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client v2.1


Maintenance Release:
•   Fixed calendar event issues. Recurring calendar events were not always triggering correctly and calendar event dates were not region/lanuage independant.
•   Fixed inability to open a disk based .msg file more than once with Outlook open. This was due to an issue releasing the Outlook inspector COM object.
•   When entering a mobile device address for phone type 'Other' the Mobile Reminders dialog would not display the full text messaging address when the dialog was re-opened.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client/Server v2.0

New Features:
•   Added Outlook Calendar (Appointment) driven status events with conditional logic. Now Out'n About! can automatically change your status when you have a meeting or appointment.
•   Added optional Presence Sensing feature to detect computer usage when you are checked Out to ensure you have not forgotten to check In when returning to the office.
•   Added Employee, Status History and Time Card reports. Reports can be run for all users, all users in a department, or individual users.
•   Replaced Import Global Address List/Active Directory Users feature with Import from Outlook/Exchange Address Book allowing faster import and group/distribution list import. The new import function also imports user information fields directly from the Outlook/Exchange address book.

Maintenance:
•   Fixed problem where the Out'n About! for Outlook Server Monitor status monitoring messages would terminate after first message (we introduced this bug in v1.60).
•   Fixed problem where pressing enter key would close Out'n About! for Outlook Server Monitor application.
•   Fixed problem where Windows shell crash would terminate the Out'n About! for Outlook Client refresh timer.
•   Added command line option to specify the server address when installing the Out'n About! for Outlook Client (/server).

Out'n About! for Outlook Client/Server v1.60


Maintenance Release:
•   Fixed problem sending WYWO messages, Mobile Alerts, and new user e-mails when Out'n About! for Outlook encountered an invalid address book or bad Outlook profile.
•   Modified Out'n About! for Outlook Server Monitor to correctly support Windows Vista User Athentication Control (UAC) permission restrictions. Users were unable to control the Out'n About! for Outlook Service from the Server Monitor.
•   Fixed problem where Out'n About! would crash under certain conditions in Outlook 2000/XP with Internet Explorer 7.0 installed. We had to work around a bug created by Internet Explorer 7.0. Note: You can crash Outlook 2000/XP (without our software) by selecting the Outlook Today folder, then selecting a different non web view folder (e.g., Notes), then closing Outlook - Internet Explorer 7.0 does not close gracefully under Outlook 2000/XP when exiting web view folders.
•   Modified WYWO and new user e-mail messages to comply with new Word 2007 HTML and CSS Rendering Capabilities in Outlook 2007. Microsoft changed all the specifications for HTML and CSS rendering under Outlook 2007!
•   Fixed potential issue with Outlook locking up at startup in Exchange environment (we have only seen this with Outlook 2007 with Exchange). This was a MAPI lockup issue with Exchange as described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 177630 'Anonymous Logon Causes Spooler to Hang During Logoff'.
•   Increased TCP/IP socket timeout value in Client to prevent 'Receive Packet Failed' errors.
•   Added TCP/IP communication error logging to allow easier diagnosis in the event of server communication issues.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client v1.51

New Features:
•   Added Active Directory (AD) user import.
•   Added ability to turn off automatic Check IN at startup.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client/Server v1.50

New Features:
•   Added Global Address List (GAL) user import.

Maintenance:
•   Passwords are no longer manditory (blank passwords are now allowed).
•   Administrator can supress the new user e-mail from being sent when adding new users.
•   All date and time formats are now derived from the Windows locale settings.
•   Fixed problem where user timestamp was not being updated on the In/Out Board display when the user changed their or someone else's status.
•   Modified the contact synchronization system. Some users were experiencing long delays when displaying the user menu, due to Outlook configuration issues, making WYWO and other features unusable.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client v1.42

Maintenance Release:
•   Fixed issue registering Out'n About! for Outlook on Windows NT/98/Me computers.
•   Fixed Out'n About! system tray icon from disappearing when Windows recovers from a Windows Explorer crash.
•   Fixed issue where Receptionist changing another users status message could inadvertently change the users status.
•   Modified setup program to allow silent installation for administrative installations. Use OutAboutClientSetup.exe /s.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client v1.4

New Features:
•   Added Mobile Reminders to automatically forward Outlook Reminders (appointments and tasks) and Out'n About! Check IN Alerts to your mobile phone, pager, or any e-mail address when you are away from your desk.
•   Added Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI) support to allow automatic dialing of selected user's phone numbers.
•   Department Panel state is now saved when you exit Outlook.

Maintenance:
•   Fixed problem where changing status from the tray icon for a status message that requires further input could lockup Outlook if the Out'n About! board was visible.
•   Fixed prompt when Administrator or Receptionist changed another users status message. The prompt incorrectly showed 'Enter your status message'.
•   Fixed issue where MSN Messenger status was changed even if MSN Messenger integration was turned off.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client/Server v1.3

New Features:
•   Added option to display users by first and last name.
•   Integrated with MSN Messenger. Out'n About! can be configured to change MSN Messenger status when you change Out'n About! status.
•   Server now stores log files in comma delimited format to allow import into external programs like Excel.
•   Added local client install/upgrade via shared network path. Client now has 'Check for Updates' option.

Maintenance:
•   Fixed server issue where departments were counted as users; thus, limiting the free 5-user version.
•   Fixed software to work with Exchange Distinguished Name email addresses, including offline cached content.
•   Fixed problem where user changing their own status via 'user menu' caused change status menus to display wrong options.
•   Fixed Out'n About! folder creation problems when user had access to shared folders that included the Out'n About! folder.

Out'n About! for Outlook Client/Server v1.2

Initial Release:
•   Welcome to Out'n About! for Outlook the first and only In/Out Status board for Outlook.
